Myths About Packaged Food Industry

Packaged foods have always provided us with a respite from the drudgery of cooking; however with the new age fad of organic and fresh food we have developed skepticism towards packaged foods. We fail to differentiate between the various kinds of packaged foods available in the market. Hopefully this myth buster will help you make the right decision next time you are in the super market contemplating purchasing that pack of instant mix or ready meal.

All Packaged Food is Stale:

Quality has been the topmost priority at GITS since its inception. We believe in selling food that we can eat ourselves. Preservatives are a big no-no as we believe in maintaining the purity of the fresh food. The products are all natural & do not contain any preservatives, synthetic or artificial additives or colors & do not require refrigeration yet they remain fresh for as long as 12 to 24 months! The trick is in the technology! For instances our Ready-to-Eat products use a technology developed in India by Defense Food Research Lab Mysore India. The products are hot filled in laminated 4 layered aluminum foil pouches able to with stand thermal processing temperature in excess of 100C at the specified pressure required for sterilization. The entire sterilization process is monitored continuously with state-of-the-art computerized systems which provide data of complete & effective sterilization. With such modern technology who needs preservatives!?

Packaged Food is Bad for Health:

Most Packaged food is created for the purpose of time-saving but by retaining the taste and concern for the consumer’s health. At GITS, we take great pains to ensure that you enjoy great tasting and healthy food. We do not believe in using preservatives and artificial ingredients to make our food last longer.

Packaged Food Does Not Taste As Good As The Real Deal:

Packaged foods have evolved keeping in mind the true taste of India. Gits makes authentic Indian food which has the true flavour of Indian food. A great level of R&D is undertaken before the launch of each product- The best chefs help make the perfect Ready-to-Eat products while the finest indigents impart great quality and tastes to our instant mixes.

Fresh Food is More Hygienic Than Packaged Food:

The packaged food industry places a lot of importance on hygiene. The food is packed in a controlled environment untouched by human hands. Your local “atta-walla’ is a lot more lax about hygiene as opposed to the packaged atta you can buy at the super market.

Gits exports to over 35 countries around the globe and meets stringent FDA regulation of countries such as USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, etc. It’s the high level of commitment towards hygenie and quality that certified Gits with Certifications of : ISO 9001 : 2008 , ISO 22000 2005 & HACCP

Packaged Food Has A Lot of Chemicals:

Chemicals in packaged food are a thing of the past. GITS has never believed in the use of chemicals as an enhancement method as the food is already exceptional in taste and quality.

These reasons are not an attempt for you to stop cooking altogether, but rather a myth-buster for people who have a bias towards packaged food. Next time you are out in the market, add a pack of GITS Dosa mix (www.instantmixes.com) or GITS Ready Meals Dal Makhani (www.readymeals.in) to your shopping cart for a lot more interesting, healthy and easy breakfast.
